Day 1 - Ontonagon to Excelsior MN

We began the trip about 8:00 AM EST.  Weather was windy, cloudy, rainy but we finished the day with SUNSHINE!  Today was a day of getting from Point A to Point B.  But the blessing is that the Point B is my cousin Susan's!  We haven't seen each other in nearly 10 years!  She lives on Minnewashta Lake.  This was our view:) 

Susan's husband passed away a little over a year ago from Glioblastoma.  It is so good to see her and and two of the three "kids".  Her son, Jack, is a video game streamer (yes, this profession is lost on us??) 

She and her daughter, Sean, do Wine Wednesday at a local restaurant, Maynards, that they have been going to since the family was young.  We were able to join them!  What fun to catch up with Sean and all that is going on in her life.  





What a nice view while having dinner!  Rick had the Firecracker Shrimp, I had the Teriyaki Chicken sandwich, Susan had the Walleye Fingers and Sean had the Jimmy Burger.  All the food was delicious!! 
 We finished our delicious meal, said goodbye to Sean and went back to Susan's to visit some more.  Our plan is to head out again in the morning...but we will see what the weather brings.  The winds have been horrendous and with a high profile vehicle we may have to stay put...

Day 5 - Evanston, WY

  Day 5 - Easter morning, we left the AB Campground early to try to beat the extreme winds.  We were not successful.  Winds ranged from 20-40 mph with some gusts up to 65 mph!  And we even hit icy and snow covered roads.  Thankful for Rick's great driving and the Lord's protection. First we thought we would go as far as Laramie.  Then Rick thought, "well it's not too bad, let's keep going."  Then we got to Rawlins, which didn't seem to have much to offer and we continued on.  Made it to Rock Springs, and in hindsight, we probably should have stopped there or driven another 100 miles to Salt Lake City.  But we went to our intended destination of Evanston.  Not much in Evanston... Day 6 - A Fun Day!

  Day 6 - Finally a day to just enjoy where we are!  The weather was BEAUTIFUL! 71 degrees and sunny! We will take it!  We did some exploring around Ogden after a wonderful breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Cactus Reds.  Always love the Belgium Waffles!   We drove some winding roads that lead us to Ogden George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park .  What a cool place! Sorry all our little munchkins weren't with us, they would have loved it.  Hopefully they will all get here one day!   6 acres  of      LIFE -                 SIZE                            DINOSAURS and a visitors' center with actual dinosaur fossils found in this area.  I was unaware that this area had found so many dinosaur bones!  There were also amazing gem stones, a dig site and museum-esque hands-on areas to learn about the claws and teeth, sca...

We spent 24 days away and had an amazing time.  It was so wonderful to spend time with family along the way and with our California family, meet new people and make new friends.  Some days were beautiful, some days were grueling.  We saw rain, hail, sleet, snow, near hurricane strength winds and SUNSHINE!  We loved the sunshine! We drove 4,909 miles round trip.  We used 362.248 gallons of gas and averaged 13.55 miles per gallon.  Not bad considering we drove through the high winds, snow and mountains!   Now we are back, unpacked, laundry done and the RV cleaned up and stored for our next adventure.  Where will we go next???
