Day 19 - Heading Toward Home

What a crazy, wonderful week!  We spent this last week with our daughter, Kate (that just got married) and her family in SUNNY California.  I am missing my morning walks in the sun already!  This year, I had a walking buddy - our beautiful granddaughter!  She and I spotted the prettiest flowers in the neighborhood each day before we headed to the park.  We had also promised to take her shopping for her birthday while we were there.  And in the process, she and Poppy were able to ride the carousel!  So glad we had time to make these precious memories!

While in Lake Tahoe for the wedding, she picked up a bunch of little seashells.  I wanted her to have some kind of keepsake for the little shells.  So, since her parents weren't excited about adding a fish to their menagerie, I decided to improvise... This is the outcome.  I love the way they turned out!  And no feeding or cleaning required!

Poppy spent the week building her a swing set for her backyard so she could have her own "park" which she will tell you is "so much fun".

A friend of the family was celebrating their birthday and were kind enough to include Rick and I in the festivities.  It was a great time, great people, great music and great view!  We are grateful for the invitation and hospitality!

The week went by far too quickly and here we are on the first day of our journey towards home.  It was a beautiful day.  We were only about 1.5 hours into the ride when we encountered the sight of snow!  NO!

Thankfully it was all on the mountain peaks and we made it through Donner Pass without event.  We drove passed Reno...

We landed at the Angel Lake RV Park in Wells, Nevada.  We are planning, at this point, to travel most of the way across I80, but we are watching the weather each day.
